How we research, write, and review.
Transparency about our sources, process, and limits — so you can trust what you read.
Our editorial mission
Educators Support publishes practical, evidence-informed guidance for parents, caregivers, and educators. We aim for content that is accurate, accessible, useful, and respectful of the realities of modern family life.
Who writes our articles
Our articles are written and edited by Fatima, founder and editor-in-chief. Fatima reads peer-reviewed research, expert books, and clinical guidelines and translates the consensus into practical, plain-language advice. When a topic falls outside her expertise, she clearly cites and links to the underlying authoritative sources.
Source hierarchy
We prioritize sources in this order:
- Peer-reviewed research — meta-analyses, systematic reviews, randomized controlled trials, longitudinal studies in reputable journals.
- Clinical & professional guidelines — American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), World Health Organization (WHO), CDC, NHS, and equivalent national bodies.
- Recognized experts — books and statements from established child-development researchers, pediatricians, child psychologists, and educators.
- Trusted secondary sources — established reporting from outlets with strong editorial standards.
We are skeptical of single studies, viral claims, and “shocking” findings until they are replicated.
Writing standards
- Plain language. We avoid jargon and use everyday words wherever possible.
- Practical. Every article tries to give the reader at least one thing they can try today.
- Balanced. We acknowledge nuance, age and culture differences, and conflicting evidence.
- Non-judgmental. Parenting is hard. We don’t shame, scare, or lecture.
- Accurate. Statistics, claims, and recommendations are sourced and linked.
Review & updates
Every article displays a “last reviewed” date. We aim to review evergreen articles at least once every 18 months — sooner when new research, guidelines, or major events warrant it. When we update an article, we note what changed.
Corrections
If you spot an error, please contact us. We will:
- Investigate within 5 business days.
- Correct factual errors promptly.
- Add a visible correction note at the top of the article.
Independence & funding
Educators Support is independent and reader-supported. We display advertising through networks such as Google AdSense; advertisers have no influence on our editorial content. We do not accept payment for positive coverage. Sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labeled.
Affiliate disclosure
We may occasionally include affiliate links to books or products we genuinely recommend. If you buy via these links we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences our recommendations.
AI use
We may use AI tools to assist with research summarization, brainstorming, and editing. All published content is reviewed by a human editor for accuracy, voice, and appropriateness before publication.
What we are not
Educators Support is an educational resource. We are not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, educational, or legal advice. For specific concerns about your child, please consult a qualified professional.
